Led by Emmy-Award winning choreographers and Pilobolus and MOMIX alums, Ashley Roland and Jamey Hampton, Oregon’s BodyVox brings its imaginative, athletic, humorous, and theatrical full-length multi-media work Urban Meadow.
The program celebrates the company’s 20th Anniversary with a best of the best compilation program of 12 short works and two award-winning films created in collaboration with Mitchell Rose. Program highlights include: Firewall, a theatrical work using lasers, wind-wands and optical illusions; the amusing Open Line has dancers holding cell phone taking calls from audience members; S.O.S. to music by Jean Sibelius celebrates the endurance of the human spirt; Captain Tenacity, an hilarious solo choreographed and performed by Ashley Roland based on the antics of a superhero and a Velcro suit; and Urban Meadow is a droll tale of the sheep and the wolf; and the breezy Café Blanco which opens with dancers on scooters.
